    Walking the Hill at KU

Well, last Sunday was graduation at KU. Many of our neighbors and friends had relatives or other acquaintances graduating and were having parties. I chose to go for a ride on my Harley. Coming back from the edge of town, I noticed this as I rode up the street (sorry for the crappy camera phone pic)...

Yes, it's lovely Fraser Hall on Mt. Oread. I got a little misty eyed, I must admit. Then I realized it didn't have anything to do with graduation, or that I never got to walk the hill, or that I love KU that much. It was that I hadn't been invited to any parties and didn't get any free beer. So take that nostalgia!

    Updated Harley pics...

Well, just got back from the Harley dealer and have a new set of sweet loud pipes installed, along with a removable windshield. I guess the pipes bumped me up one spot on the "real biker" list, but that windshield knocked me down two spots. Oh well. I always wear a helmet, so I guess I'd never make it to the top of the list anyhow.

    New HD Softail Deluxe

I finally made the decision to purchase a new Harley-Davidson two weeks ago. I've been having a blast riding it around and have just started customizing it.

New seat and backrest can be seen in the pictures; new pipes and a windshield get added in about a week.

I took and nailed passed a two and a half day motorcycle safety course. It sounds hokey, but I actually learned a ton about riding. Given that I had my first motorcycle in the 2nd grade, I didn't think I'd learn much; fortunately I was wrong. I highly recommend taking this class to anyone getting a bike.
